🩷 PINK OUT DAY 🩷
This year, Pink Out Day holds an especially personal meaning for our Pickens Elementary family. Earlier this school year, we lost one of our own to breast cancer, and her absence is deeply felt throughout our school. 💗
On Friday, October 23, we invite our students and staff to wear pink as we come together in honor of her memory and in support of all those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
We wear pink for awareness.
We wear pink for strength and hope.
We wear pink for those still fighting, those who have survived, and those we will always remember.
And this year, we wear pink for one of our own. 🩷🎀

Following 13 years of leadership, Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck will conclude his service at the end of the 2026–2027 school year. With advance planning, the Board of Trustees is beginning the search process now to support a thoughtful and seamless transition.
The search will be guided by our Innovate ’28 Strategic Plan and shaped by input from the people who know and care about SDPC — our students, employees, families, and Pickens County community.
