The Performance Task Assessment (PTA) testing window is from February 20-March 8. This test has two parts: a verbal and non-verbal subtest, and it will be administered over two days. If your child qualifies to be tested, a letter has been sent home stating the specific testing dates as well as tips on how you can support your child.

These scores aid in classroom instruction, monitor student progress, and indicate when ELs have reached proficiency in the English language. A cute reminder that there will be no school for students on Monday, October 9th and Tuesday, October 10th of next week. The 9th is a planned holiday and the 10th is a Teacher-In-Service day.

Second Graders at Pickens Elementary will be taking the CogAT/IOWA Assessments during the week of October 16th-20th. Please put these dates on your calendar. We encourage all of these students to be on time each day and to refrain from early dismissals if possible. Important Parent Meeting planned for those wishing to participate in the YAMS program. All forms need to be turned in by this Friday, September 15th. You will be receiving an invitation to which meeting to go to. All are encouraged to attend!
