The top 5 vote-getting schools will receive:

Pickens Elementary Recognized
The Palmetto Gold and Palmetto Silver awards program recognizes schools that have attained high levels of absolute performance, high rates of growth, and substantial progress in closing achievement gaps between groups of students. Schools receive general performance awards based on both their absolute and growth ratings and the growth index found on school report cards. These ratings are determined by PASS scores for elementary and middle schools. Schools receive closing the achievement gap awards based on academic gains made by students who fall into four subgroups - African American students, Hispanic students, students participating in federal free- or reduced-price lunch programs and students with non-speech disabilities. We are proud to announce that Pickens Elementary has been awarded the Silver award in the General Performance category.
2011 Report Cards
The 2011 SC Report Card ratings have been released. Pickens has earned a Good in both Absolute and Growth ratings. We are very proud of the students and staff of Pickens Elementary.

PTO 50 cents each. Please encourage your family members,

Bi-Lo Booster Program
Support your school by signing up for the Bi-Lo Boosters Program online. Pickens Elementary will get 1% of all sales through the end of the school year. The forms are also available in the reception office at PES or any PTO officer can assist you.
